Brittney and Chris were married on June 1, 2013. When Brittney contacted me about being the wedding photographer for her intimate backyard wedding in Waxahachie, Texas, I was thrilled. The bride and groom met online in 2011 and got engaged over the holidays, while they were unfortunately sick with the flu. But hey — diamonds make everyone feel better!
The ceremony was beautiful, with Brittney’s son, Logan, an important part. After the vows and family formals I took the newlyweds into the “backyard” (a gorgeous lot with a field and treeline) for some romantic shots.
Then it was time for the reception! The food was great — authentic Texas barbeque — and the cakes, handcrafted by Tara’s Handcrafted Cakes, were both beautiful and delicious. Of all the weddings I’ve been a part of, the groom’s cake Tara created for Chris, a cement truck worker for Argos, takes the cake (no pun intended). The best part? It was all edible!
The reception was held in the backyard of the groom’s parents, with the dances taking place around the picturesque swimming pool. The bride and groom danced to one of my all-time favorite songs, “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton. The toasts were lighthearted, yet tender, and the party was hoppin’. Congratulations, Brittney, Chris, and Logan!
