I met Miquela my freshman year at Wartburg College. We became fast friends, and I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her wedding to Jon, the love of her life. When I first met Jon, I knew Miq had found her prince charming.
Their wedding was September 29, 2012 in Clear Lake, Iowa at a beautiful state park. The wedding was breathtaking, with all of the fall foliage vibrant in true Midwest fashion. The 75 degree day was perfect, and it was so refreshing flying up from Texas and experiencing fall!
Miq’s dress had the most elegant, lace back — sexy and demure at the same time. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a dress that style, and it was perfect for her! Miquela did a fabulous job with the details of her wedding — rustic, Pinterest-inspired touches were everywhere. From the burlap ring-bearer pillow to windowpanes with the bridal party’s names scrawled on them, everything was carefully thought out and flowed together perfectly. One of the cutest details was the burlap bows on the cake!
The bride and groom gave out personalized mason jars (chalkboard style) as gifts, and the head table overlooked scenic Clear Lake (which was dry, but still beautiful!). Paper lanterns and white lights hung from the trees, and guests danced the night away under the stars.
So happy for Miquela and Jon … congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Snow!
