Brittany Feagans Photography, Inc. consists of me, Brittany Feagans, photographer and wedding album designer extraordinaire.
In a world with a countless number of languages, there is only one universal language: photography. Anyone from any culture can look at a photo and understand what it means. Photography unites the entire human population in a way that is powerful and timeless.
I’m a 2009 graduate of Wartburg College, located in the tiny town of Waverly, IA. As the school newspaper’s Photo Editor and Chief Photographer, I photographed performances, concerts, speakers, and other news-related events. In early 2009, during my Senior year, I was assigned to shoot The Frantic, an up-and-coming punk rock band from suburban Chicago. It was then that I fell in love with concert photography.
After graduation, I spent 3 years as a photographer for the Chicago Music Guide, rocking out to artists ranging from Keith Urban to Kittie to The Offspring. Some of my favorite moments and learning experiences came during those “first three songs, no flash” times. Highlights include shooting numerous Summerfest concerts in Milwaukee and three Vans Warped Tours.
While working for the Chicago Music Guide, I was hired as a photo editor/color corrector at one of Chicago’s premiere wedding photo studios, Essence Photo & Video. Over the next 3 wedding seasons, I fell in love with the art of professional wedding photography. Growing from a photo editor to a wedding album designer at Essence, I soaked up as much information about the wedding industry as I could. Eager to get into wedding photography, I offered to photograph a few of my friends’ weddings for free, to gain experience. It wasn’t long before it became obvious that this was where my true talent and passion coexist.
I quickly began booking weddings, and haven’t looked back! I moved from Chicago to Frisco, TX, in March 2012, and have photographed weddings in Iowa, Illinois, Texas, Wisconsin, Georgia, Colorado, California and Arizona.
When I’m not behind the lens, I run marathons and enjoy spending time with my three Siamese cats, Meeko, Josie and Maverick. I’m a diehard Cubs fan, and my fiancé proposed moments after the final out of the 2016 World Series
